Module 4: Safe use at work in NZ and next steps
Your next seven days
Allow 5 minutes now. Plan seven small practices. The later practice is optional and sits outside the course's estimated 88 minutes.
Five minutes a day
| Day | Practice | A sign it worked |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check your account, label and team rule. | You know what you may use. |
| 2 | Draft an email from invented notes. | Dates and promises match the notes. |
| 3 | Improve that draft with one follow-up. | It is clearer and keeps the same facts. |
| 4 | Make a Word checklist, or use the Chat route. | Each step has a source. |
| 5 | Ask about the invented Excel table. | You check the cells and arithmetic. |
| 6 | Summarise invented meeting notes. | Proposals stay separate from decisions. |
| 7 | Save one prompt that worked and discuss your draft team rule. | A named person owns review. |
Record the task, source and correction needed. Judge the quality of the final work as well as the time spent. Do not promise a percentage saving from this small trial.
Choose further learning when you need it
Explore more courses and workshops when they fit your work.
- Microsoft Copilot foundations: guided practice across the apps in a half-day workshop.
- Copilot for Outlook, Teams and admin: focus on inboxes and meeting follow-ups.
- Copilot for Excel and finance: more workbook practice and checking.
- Copilot for managers: briefings and a team checking rule.
- Copilot rollout and readiness: for administrators and pilot leaders.
Try it: 2 minutes
Choose a day-one time, a safe practice task and the person you will discuss your policy draft with. Choose further training only if it addresses a specific gap.
Finish this course
Complete the final quiz and mark all lessons complete. Signed-in learners who meet the platform's completion requirements can get the end-of-course certificate. It recognises independent TheColab training, not Microsoft certification.
Done when: you have a practice plan and a clear next step you can use at work.
