Copilot for Outlook, Teams and admin

Who it is for

Executive assistants, coordinators, team administrators and operations staff who live in Outlook and Teams.

This half-day follows the work of keeping other people organised: a crowded inbox, a meeting you did not attend, and the note that has to go out afterwards.

You use your own mailbox and your own meetings. Copilot Chat in Outlook can draw on mail, calendar, meetings and chats within supported limits. Broader grounding needs the add-on. We can run the session in your workplace or live by video.

Tasks follow the Microsoft Copilot application card, 'Overview of Microsoft Copilot Chat' and 'What is Microsoft Copilot?'.

Before you start: A work account with Outlook, and Teams if you want the meeting exercises. Copilot Chat in Outlook is enough for part of the session. In-app Copilot helps with the rest. No earlier course is required.

What we cover

1. Inbox triageSummarise a long thread, list action items, and draft a reply. Change length and tone, then read the draft against the thread so names and dates still match.
2. Coaching a difficult noteUse the coaching tips on clarity, sentiment and tone. Keep the decision in your words. Copilot suggests. You send.
3. Calendar and meetings from OutlookAsk what is next and what a recent meeting covered, within the Outlook grounding your label allows. Suggest a follow-up meeting only when the thread actually needs one.
4. Teams catch-upRecap a meeting, organise the discussion points, and summarise the actions. Ask a specific question about something you missed in the chat.
5. From recap to a follow-upTurn the checked actions into an email or a short Teams post. Remove anything the recap added that the meeting did not say.
6. Agendas and noticesDraft an agenda or an internal notice in Word from notes you provide. Check room names, times and owners before it is circulated.
